I feel incredibly privileged to have been part of the team that secured this Devolution deal for our area – the opportunities it brings us are truly game-changing.

Unlocking Growth

My number one priority is improving our area’s economy. For years we have been left out and left behind – that needs to change. My leading fight is to make our region a powerhouse in the North: unlocking jobs, getting new investment, and putting us on the map. I speak to business leaders across the region weekly – they tell me about the opportunities with this role and I want to make them a reality.

Getting the Basics Right

After running a Council for over 2 years one thing is clear – people just want a fair deal. From setting up a pothole-filling team 15 years ago to launching a multi-million-pound Crime Prevention Fund in 2022, I want to see us come up with policies that make our communities better one street at a time.
